The walls also look quite sinister, but cool in their own way. This was the first image I chose for the Midnight Youtube short. I did not have a clear direction in mind at first, but due to this image, I limited my prompts to Sci-fi, cyberpunk and nanopunk and also turqoise/blue color theme.

Why I chose this image: I liked the architectural aesthetic, it is exactly what I would picture when thinking about a Cyberpunk dystopia – very high buildings, probably an apartment block with few windows.

It took some iterations to get the eye to look actually beautiful, but I really love the end result here. This was my favorite image out of all the images created for my small Midnight project. The human eye can be so beautiful, but there is something very non-human about this one, also because sparkles.

Even though the theme was blue/turqoise, I wanted to sneak this in. In retrospect it may not be the best choice, but I like the symmetrical features, although it actually is not completely symmetrical and the blurred out skyscrapers in the narrow distance. This picture also inspired me to add “neon” to my following prompts.

Why I chose this image: Very dystopian image, a looming skyscraper with so few lights on and only a couple of other lights visible in the background illuminated by a floating sphere. It paints the picture of a dystopia where people are starved of electricity and light or it is not needed by most.

The clutter of neon signs and light pollution and banners on skyscrapers even in the middle of the night. And a random dude walking on the sidewalk.

Midnight – hesitation at the door

Why I chose this picture: I like the futuristic door with neon edges where the man is hesitating to go through. Other variations did not have the door look like this frosted flass. I also like the small details of some wires on the floor and some disrepair. The man is wearing some cyberpunk gadgets in addition to his clothes. And I think he has lost one of his shoes.

Why I chose this image: I like the aesthetic of a large empty building interior with windows reaching absurdly high. Gives a dystopian feeling. I did not choose this for the Youtube short for Midnight, but the picture is cool nevertheless.
Midnight – trainstation

Why I chose this image: I did not choose this image for the Youtube Midnight short video, but I think it’s cool nonetheless. It does not give that specific of a sci-fi look, more of a current time. It gives me the feeling of waiting for a train to arrive in the middle of the night alone in a train station in some remote location.
Midnight – cyberstreet
Created with: midnight, cyberpunk, photography, cinematic, blue, neon. Why I chose this image: This is so cyberpunk. Such vibrant light pollution from the neon signs and a person waiting for a tram a little bit further from the bright city center. I like the contrast and dashes of red in the sea of blue. This image did not make it to the Midnight Youtube short only because the first versions of this image had some unwanted elements and I managed to complete the video before this image was ready.
